More on Icelandic horses

Hello everyone, 9 of us met up last Thursday and it was lovely to catch up with everyone there, there will be more planned meet-ups around and about this summer, so keep checking this blog * if you are reading this, and you are not on the mailing list, leave a comment with your email address and we will add you, and keep you updated (no spam) just info about new blogs and upcoming Icelandic society events.. :) Sigrún kindly forwarded this email from Jennie, here is more new info on the Icelandic horses here in New Zealand:

Just want to let you know we now have a website: www.vikinghorse.co.nz

Also some other things which might interest your members. There is a fantastic book "The Icelandic Horse", for sale via www.lifland.is
Of course it is about the history of the Icelandic horse, but there is a lot general history mentioned as well with heaps of (historic) beautiful pics. I have bought the book and it is also a great read.

The other thing is we are planning to organise a trip to Iceland in 2010 with visits to breeders, trainers, Hólar University (attending a riding course) a horse tour and some sightseeing. If you wish I can keep you updated on this.

Kind Regards from a rainy Mauku,

Jennie
